Yo mama jokes are something we have all heard growing up but where did they come from and why are they so funny? When you think of yo mama jokes you might be reminded of all the jokes that went sour in the past, or the “Yo Mama” YouTube channel that has some questionable jokes, but every once in a while, you come across a really well thought out joke that you can’t help but laugh at. Personally, “your mom” is one of my favorite comebacks. It can be used in just about any situation at random. The best ones are not mean—just for personal enjoyment to add a little spice to your day when joking with friends. For example, if someone asks what you are doing later today you can then say to them “Going to your mom’s house, but after that, I’m free.” Golden, perfect response.
Where do yo mama jokes come from?
Yo mama jokes have been around for ages dating back to 3500 BC. Inscribed on a stone tablet that was discovered, were a couple of inappropriate jokes pertaining to your mother. Yo mom must be ancient.
But let me not forget to mention that in the play, “Titus Andronicus,” we witness one of the first yo mama jokes written by Shakespeare himself, which is said to be the start of yo mama jokes.
DAAANGGG, that was a good one back in the day considering it has continued it way into the 90’s when yo mama jokes really took off and became popular!
It wasn’t until the 90’s that yo mama jokes really took off and became popular. Yo mama jokes were more insulting than anything, but over time the joke evolved into more of a call and response. It's all about timing; to make a good yo mama joke you have to wait for the perfect time.
The best yo mama jokes are absurd and random and all in good fun. Just make sure you are making jokes at the appropriate time, and it's not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. This applies to any joke you make—remember to be kind.
Yo mama jokes have been around for forever, and on October 31 2020 the infamous “Yo Mama” channel posted its final joke bringing an end to the Yo mama joke era.
Sincerely, Your mom
