Jeremiah Chambers Charged After Assault of an Elderly Woman

Jeremiah Chambers, a man from Eldridge, is facing multiple felony charges after he injured an elderly woman after assaulting her earlier this month. According to the Eldridge Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of West Spring Street around 11:30 a.m. on May 7th. Reporters say when they arrived, they saw her being dragged outside an apartment while covered in blood, and later identified 50-year-old Jerimiah Chambers as the suspect. Upon further investigation, investigators found that he struck her in the head with a stone bowl multiple times, causing serious injuries. After police arrived, she was immediately taken to a local hospital.


What Charges Were Filed?

According to police reports and court records, Chambers faced multiple charges:

  1. Willful injury causing serious injury

  2. Assault causing injury to an elderly person

  3. Assault while displaying a weapon

At the time of his arrest, he was being held at the Scott County Jail with a $14,000 bond.
