Prom 2026: One Night, Endless Memories

One night. One boat. A hundred memories.

Prom starts with the outfit–the one you have been planning, or stressing over, for weeks. Next come the photos, last-minute hair fixes, and, of course, group chats blowing up when people inevitably show up late to plans. Amidst the chaos, when you finally step onto the boat, music thumping, lights reflecting off the river, you suddenly realize one thing: this is prom.

For one night, everything feels like a movie. Laughs are louder, pictures matter more, and awkward dance moves become fun. Whether you go for the views, the music, or the memories with your friends, prom is not a night you want to hear about later. Prom is a night you want to be there for.

Tickets

Prom ticket sales will begin on Friday, May 1st, and last until Thursday, May 14th. To purchase tickets, juniors and seniors will receive a password-encrypted link directly from Bound. The link is only valid for the purchase of two tickets.

If a caretaker purchases tickets, make sure they have your code. This system ensures tickets go to the intended students. When purchasing, you must enter your name and your guest’s name. The school will cross-reference this with the approved guest list before the dance.

Detentions

As many students should already know, outstanding detentions will jeopardize your chance of attending prom, and trust me, that’s a risk you don’t want to take.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Starting on Friday, May 1st, students will no longer be allowed to serve detentions with custodial staff.

  • Detentions can be served after school until 4 pm Monday-Thursday.

  • On Fridays, detention can be served from 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm in room C2.

  • Detention can also be served on April 11th, April 25th, and May 9th from 8 am to 12 pm. These count for time and a half!

  • Earned detentions will now be sent out via email every day at 5 pm. Additionally, weekly detention reminders are sent out on Thursdays.

If you have any questions about detentions, please see Mr. Schwartz. If you do not contact him, your procrastination may come back to haunt you on May 16th.

Other Important Information

  • Students must not owe any fees to attend prom. Fees can be found on Infinite Campus or with the front office.

  • If you would like to bring a guest from another school, fill out this GUEST FORM. It is due by Wednesday, May 13th, at 4 p.m. No exceptions!

Song List

Our lovely student government members have been creating a prom song list throughout the school year and would love your input, too. Please fill out THIS FORM to hear all of your favorite (school-appropriate) tunes on the dance floor! Nothing kills the vibe faster than a song nobody asked for, so don’t let that happen again.

Why Should I Go to Prom?

At North Scott High School, prom is not just a dance; it’s an experience. We are very lucky to spend our prom night on a Celebration River Cruise boat with three distinct levels: a high-energy dance floor, a relaxed seating area, and an open-air deck with incredible views.

If you need a break from the music, step outside. Watching the sunset over the water, or seeing the bridge light up at night, adds a calm moment to an otherwise electric night.

Personally, my favorite spot is the dance floor. That’s where the night really comes alive. Prom music always hits different. Whether you are singing every word, dancing awkwardly, or laughing with your friends, this is the kind of craziness you will want to remember. So, definitely make sure to spend at least part of your night on the dance floor!

Post-Prom

You all might think the night is over when the boat docks at 11 pm, but it actually is not. The fun never stops after the dance! Every year, the Post-Prom Committee fundraises to put together an unforgettable post-prom. Rumor has it that this year, there will be a mechanical bull, an obstacle course, a sweeper, food, music, and prizes! It is basically an afterparty designed to keep everyone from wanting to leave.

If you plan to attend post-prom, you must have a waiver signed by your parent or guardian. Copies are available in the front office or attached in an email from Mrs. Bauer. These are due in the front office by the end of the school day on May 8th.

Conclusion

Prom is not about a perfect night but a real one. So go. Show up. Stay a little too long on the dance floor. Take pictures. Watch the sunset or the lit-up bridge.

This is not another school event; it is one of the last big moments you will share with the people who made your high school experience what it was.
