Lancer Productions is bringing the classic, kooky Addams family, originally created by Charles Addams, who created the The Addams Family comic strip that appeared in The New Yorker in the late 1930s. The Addams Family has been reimagined time and time again with the same iconic characters and hilariously dark premises. And now, for the first time, Lancer Productions is performing The Addams Family Musical as their spring show! Featured cast includes Brayden Serrano as Gomez Addams, Charlotte Madden as Morticia, Natalie Sierk as the iconic Wednesday Addams, Bella Suarez as Pugsley Addams, Emily Stutting as Grandma Addams, Grady Kirst as Fester Addams, and Alexander Simmons as Lurch. This time, there’s a new family in town, the Beinekes, played by Ben Lightle as Malcom Beineke, the father, Taylar Vondal as Alice Beineke, the mother, and Jack McCarthy as Lucas Beineke, the son. This reimagine story is a compelling tale of love, lies, and a touch of dark, fantastical humor.

Let’s Get Technical
The Addams Family Musical is set at the Addams family mansion and is sure to have a giant and intricate set. Technical director Josh Tipsword and many cast and crew members are helping make the show amazing, with everything from set construction, sound, and lighting to management roles such as stage management, student technical direction, and student assistant director. There are also some amazing students helping with PR; they produce Instagram posts, TikTok videos, and all kinds of promotional material to help promote the show.

An Interview With Brayden Serrano (Gomez):

"Growing up, I always went to the theater with my family. I would always sit there and watch the people on the stage, hoping it would be me one day. I started around 11 years old at Davenport Junior Theater, and I remember thinking it was too late to start because everyone around me started when they were really young. As I grew up, so did my acting, and I started to realize how much acting and theater in general actually meant to me. I was super scared to start theater in Lancer Productions because I wasn’t sure how good I actually was, and I thought I would never get cast. Getting Gomez has been such an amazing time, and I remember being so shocked when I first saw the cast list that I started crying. Now leaving Lancer Productions, I’m gonna miss it because I have grown so much from when I first started here, and I will always cherish the time I spent at the high school. I plan to go to the University of Iowa next year to continue my theater journey and hopefully share my love with others."
