Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies This Year

Continuing the trend, here are the top 10 most anticipated movies of this year.

The year is flush with the usual blockbuster franchise titles, but we've also got some thrilling genre fare and new projects from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and Jordan Peele, among others. Amrita Vora

Wuthering Heights

Highly anticipated Wuthering Heights is now here! Released today, February 13th, Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie will star in the lead roles. Based on Emily Brontë's text Wuthering Heights, the film follows a tragic story set in 18th-century England where Heathcliff falls in love with a wealthy woman. Scream 7

Scream is back yet again, starring Neve Campbell, Matthew Lillard, and McKenna Grace. A new Ghostface killer has arisen, and Sydney’s (Campbell) daughters are their next target. To protect her new life and family, she must remain strong and finally put an end to the Ghostface killer once and for all. The film is directed by Kevin Williamson and will be released on February 27th. Watch the trailer here.







The Bride

If you read my article last year, this title should be familiar. The Bride was scheduled to be released between September 26 and October 3rd of 2025, but was pushed to this year due to production delays and schedule shifts. Nonetheless, it is back, starring Christian Bale as Frankenstein's monster and Jessie Buckley as The Bride of Frankenstein. The film, based on the classic 1935 film The Bride of Frankenstein, is set in 1930s Chicago, where a young woman is brought back to life to serve as a companion for Frankenstein's monster. The film is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and will be released on March 6th. Watch the trailer here.



The Drama

Hopefully, no one is tired of Zendaya or Robert Pattinson yet, because they're back again playing the lead roles in The Drama. The film is being distributed by none other than A24 and is a romance (with a little edge) about an engaged couple whose wedding is sent off the rails after an interesting revelation comes to light. The film is directed by Kristoffer Borgli and will be released on April 3rd. Watch the trailer here.





Micheal

Again, if you read my article last year, this title should be familiar. Originally planned for 2025, got moved to 2026 due to reshoots needed for the third act of the movie. The film will star Michael Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as we follow the life of the superstar from his time in Jackson 5 to becoming the biggest entertainer in the world. The film is also expected to be split into 2 parts, as the runtime is rumored to be from 3 ½ to 4 hours. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and will be released on April 24th. The Devil Wears Prada 2

Cult classic The Devil Wears Prada is back, along with Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. The film follows Andy (Hathaway) and Miranda (Streep) as they battle an ex-assistant to Miranda, Emily Charlton, now the head of a luxury brand, over advertising revenue amid declining print media. The film is directed by David Frankel and will be released on May 1st. Watch the trailer here.








Supergirl

First Superman starring David Corenswet and now Milly Alcock starring Kara Zor-El in Supergirl. Based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow limited series, the film is set to follow Supergirl as she goes on a journey of vengeance and justice. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will now be the sixth installment in the series. The film stars Joseph Zada and McKenna Grace as young Haymitch Abernathy competes in the 50th annual Hunger Games. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will also be returning to the film after their absence in The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and will be released on November 20th. Watch the trailer here.






Toy Story 5

Toy Story is back! Starring our beloved cast such as Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Wallace Shawn, Joan Cusack, etc. Toy Story 5 will follow the gang as their jobs get much harder once they go head-to-head with an unknown threat to playtime. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton and will be released on June 19th. Watch the trailer here.









The Odyssey

The Odyssey will star a great cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mia Goth, Anne Hathaway, and Jon Bernthal. The film, based on the Greek epic poem, follows ‌Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he makes his journey home after the Trojan war.
