What To-Do in The Summer and Spring in Iowa

Living in a state known for its fields and farmers, finding entertainment is often difficult, especially when you have an abundance of free time. While having your own time may be fun, sitting at your house can frequently be boring; however, Iowa has some entertaining outdoor activities to do.
You only get so many summers, might as well spend them having fun!
Pella Tulip Festival
The Pella Tulip festival is an annual celebration in Iowa featuring parades, food, an assortment of tulips and more. The festival is meant to celebrate the Dutch heritage in Pella. The festival takes place in the first weekend in May, with activities beginning in the morning carrying until the late afternoon. Pella is only about two hours from here, so it makes for a fun day trip. This is a great opportunity for Instagram pictures, for those who care about that type of thing, or just a day to experience a new culture. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
Outdoor Activities
One of Iowa’s most unique outdoor attractions features the Maquoketa Caves. Throughout the park features a 6-mile trail system with a gorgeous view of the landscape. The Maquoketa caves have been a popular attraction for picnickers and hikers since the 1860s. The caves have trails for more experienced hikers as well as beginners and for families with small kids. Take some time in the upcoming months to utilize this wonderful outdoor site. The caves are nothing short of an adventure and something that is fun to check out!
Small Business Shopping in LeClaire
Le Claire, Iowa is full of rare but exceptional boutiques surrounding the Mississippi River. These stores include, Cody Road, Nest Modern Goods, Cody Rose Flower Co, among many more! Le Claire has stunning views, and is a well kept city, making for a pleasant shopping experience. There are numerous unique stores in the area to purchase gifts for yourself or loved ones! Of the stores there, Nest Modern Goods is by far my favorite with their unique clothing line. Not to mention the gorgeous setting around, it is something not to miss out on!
