A Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Valentine’s Day celebrates one of the most beautiful things in the world: love. Finding the perfect gift to express your appreciation and admiration for people in your life, however, can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Whether you are shopping for your friends, family, or a significant other, here are some thoughtful gifts for this special holiday!

Friends

People love to feel known, and nothing screams a friendly Valentine’s Day gift quite like giving someone their favorite candy. It is simple, affordable, and shows that you pay attention to what they like. After all, everyone loves a good sweet treat.

If you are feeling more creative than a quick Dollar General store run, baking is another great route. Holiday-themed treats are always a hit. With a little time and a lot of love, you can make adorable heart-shaped snacks for your friends.

For a friend not interested in food, there is one more idea that may seem cliché but never truly goes out of style: friendship bracelets. They are a nostalgic, meaningful, and cute way to let everyone know who your best friend is. It is a constant reminder that you have been there for each other. Plus, matching is so cute!

Family

During a holiday of love, it is important to remember to appreciate the people who will always be in your life, no matter what: family. For many, families are the first loving relationships. A heartfelt gift that captures memories and shows gratitude is a handmade coupon book. It is highly customizable—whether you decide to offer to do chores or plan activities, the possibilities are endless.

Significant Other

During Valentine’s Day, three gifts for a significant other will never disappoint: chocolate, flowers, and a stuffed animal. Heart-shaped boxes filled with special chocolates are practically a tradition. Sweet, yummy chocolate inside a love-themed box can never go wrong. A chocolate box is not complete without a bouquet of flowers, however. Now, some of you reading this may think that only a girl would enjoy receiving flowers, but I believe boys deserve them, too. We should spread the love by giving them flowers for Valentine’s Day! Last, but certainly not least, is a stuffed animal. Stuffed animals are so soft and perfect for cuddling. They are also really easy to spray perfume or cologne on to give your significant other a little piece of you when you are away. Of course, there are other options if none of these stereotypical gifts strike your fancy.

Jewelry is inherently romantic, especially when you choose something that matches your partner’s taste. Wearing jewelry from a significant other is a nice way to have a piece of them with you throughout the day, especially when you do not see them every day. This is not the only gift that is a good keepsake, however.

Love letters may seem outdated, but I promise any sane person would adore receiving one. In my professional opinion, words are worth more than money could ever buy. I know writing is not everyone’s thing, but the quality of the letter is unimportant; the only thing that matters is that it comes from the heart.

No matter who you plan to give gifts to on Valentine’s Day, make sure that your gifts mean something to you and them. Thoughtful gestures—big or small—are what truly make the holiday special. Love is best expressed not through price tags, but through intention.
